I am a cardiothoracic surgeon, professor, and director of the Thoracic Aortic Surgery Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Known for my leadership in clinical trials for innovative cardiac procedures, including catheter-based aortic valve replacement and thoracic aortic surgery, I have authored over 600 research papers and founded the Penn Aortic Center. With a career spanning more than 40 years and north of 9,000 surgeries, I have had the honor of holding various leadership roles in prestigious surgical societies, including the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
